The Duchess County Long Rifles focuses on the basis of firearms, and firearm safety, while incorporating STEM education. The club offers training in the disciplines of Archery, Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol, Mummle Loader, Rifle and Air Rifle. Club members start with the basics of proper firearms safety and handling as well as proper range etiquette and are encouraged to build toward more advanced skills. As members progress in skills and techniques, members are then encouraged to participate in postal shoots with the eventual goal of attending 4-H Shooting Sports competitions which can progress to state and national level events.
